This board game is a fun and interactive way to get your Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students to practice some of the most common high frequency words for their age group! The PDF file includes the 3-page game board which can be easily downloaded and assembled. For quick assembly, I would recommend printing it on card stock and simply taping the backside of the game board sheets together. For long-lasting use, I would recommend printing it on standard printer paper, taping the 3 game boards sheets together, and then running it through a laminator. Enjoy!!!
Age range: Pre-K - 1st grade
Number of players: 2-4
Objective: A fun way to develop sight word recognition and spelling skills!
You will need:
-1 counter per player
-Each player places his/her counter on START.
-Player 1 rolls the die and then moves forward the number of spaces on the die.
-When Player 1 lands on the appropriate square, he/she will read the sight word
on that square. If the word is read correctly, he/she stays on that space. If the
word is read incorrectly, the student moves his/her counter back to the last
square he/she occupied and can proceed during the next turn.
-Play continues the same way for each player.
-The first player to reach FINISH is the winner!
-Roll 2 dice to make the game go faster.
-Have students compete in pairs/small groups instead of individually.
-If you land on top of another player, you will send them back 5 spaces.
