In many synonym worksheets, one word is provided, and the students have to find the word that means the same as the given word.
In this resource, however, children have to find pairs
of words that are synonyms. You might say that students have to work doubly hard
On the first page
of each worksheet, the students find synonym pairs and write them next to each other. On the second page
, students complete a closure activity by filling in the blanks with synonyms for the given words.
This kit has many benefits. It helps develop a student's sight vocabulary, while the child explores word meanings. By learning high frequency words, students can read more smoothly, since they don't have to decode every word.
