Another installment in the Frugal Teacher series!
Are you looking for activities that are easy to add to your word work stations that are engaging for young children and require a minimum amount of "upkeep" and supplies?! The Frugal Teacher activities are what you need!
I've used these in both Kindergarten and First grade and the children LOVE them! You can use them for sight word practice, word family practice, or spelling practice. They require a few basic supplies that most of us already have in our classrooms!
Here are the activities included: (extra supplies in parentheses)
Read, Write & Smell (smelly markers)
Sticky words (popsicle sticks and playdough)
Rainbow words (markers)
Word Towers (small plastic or paper cups)
Wiki Words (wiki sticks)
Vowel Highlight (highlighters)
Salt Words (salt tray)
Write and Stamp (letter stamps and ink)
Playdough Stamp (playdough and playdough letter stamps)
Magnetic Words (letter magnets)
ABC Order (alphabet chart)
BananaWords (banangrams or letter tiles)
Phone Home (old cell phone or regular phone)
