Testing sight words can take a lot of time per each child. This tool makes it easier for you to track and test each child on their sight words. Each student starts in the zebra group and works their way to the right and then down the the left (just like when you read). This includes the list that I keep in their binders as well as pictures of each group so that you can cut and glue on larger paper to track their progress on your data wall. My students use mini clothespins and attach their clothespin to the group they are currently working on. The visual provides an spectacular way to watch them earn their way to the top. Students will notice that the clothespin thats higher is from the person who practices more often! Enjoy!
Once a child knows the sight words in the group- place a sticker under the animal name. This will indicate to the parents that they have completed this group.
