Puzzler - Sight Words Center Game -

I am required to test my friends on sight word reading and spelling, and through the year, I took the most commonly misspelled sight words in all of my groups ranging from extremely low to high. I made this product for my friends to practice letter formation, letter sounds and sight words.

How I use this pack

Laminate each of the puzzle cards and word cards, so that they are durable. I use 3mil lamination sheets. I use just regular paper. No need for cardstock unless you choose not to laminate.

Each child is given a recording sheet.

Students make a pile of picture cards and a pile of word cards.

Next, the student should pick up a picture card and begin to pick each picture’s beginning sound. As they do so, they can either write that letter on a dry erase board, or place magnetic letters on top of each picture as they figure it out.

The mini alphabets can be put inside the lid so the student can have it if they find difficulty.

Once they have all the letters on top of the pictures, they look through their word cards until they find a card that has the same letters.

Then, the student should then transfer each letter, starting with the first letter and build the sight word on top of the letters. If it is correct, they will look at the number on the card they completed and then write that word on the matching number on their recording sheet. They will continue this until they complete each box.

*** 12-8-18 another updated has been made to the recording sheets and the set covers. They now have a theme. The theme is fruit. This is similar to fix it sentences so that kids can more easily know what box set they are on.
