Sight Words Center
Sight Words Spin Trace Graph (Primer Words)
About this book:
This book contains a Spin and Trace center for 44 primer sight words intended for use with children in Preschool, Kindergarten (Prep) and Grade 1.
Directions for use:
Print the pages you wish to use and, if you would like to use them with dry erase/whiteboard markers or crayons, laminate the pages for repeated use. Alternatively, if you choose not to laminate the pages but would like to use them over and over, slip them into a plastic sleeve and store them in a binder. Children will need a paper clip and a pencil to make the "spinner" needed to complete the activity: the pencil is pushed into the paper clip (ensuring the clip will not fall off) and must be spun in the middle of the circle at the top-left of each page. Each time the "spinner" stops, children record the spin by tracing one of the sight words. The aim is to see which case will make it to the top first! Children are then asked to fill in the empty spaces to make the four sight words on the page. Once completed, children can color the boxes to make a bar graph to represent the number of spins for each word.
Happy Teaching :)
