This is a fun game for students learning and practicing their sets of sight words. I like to use them with small groups or in centers with partners. Players take turns drawing a card and reading the sight word. If they're correct, they keep the card in front of them. If incorrect, the card goes to the bottom of the pile. If a "Zip!" card is drawn, the player draws another card from the pile to read. If a "Zap!" card is drawn, the player returns all his/her cards to the pile. (You may change that to only losing one card per "Zap!" card.)
Even though each game is played in the same way, the children enjoy moving up to each new set of words to discover what the new "Zip!" and Zap!" cards will be.
Check out my other sight words fun game called "Snip! Snap!" with 9 sets of games. And there's also the series "Flip! Flap!" which works with Fry Phrases.
