Sight Words Practice
St Patrick's Day Literacy Center
A simple, easy to set up game, yet one that is fun, engaging and educational.
Here is a quick game to practice sight words.
it is a version of tic-tac-toe but you use clovers instead of crosses and noughts.
Each clover has a sight word written on it so when the kids pick one to use they should read the word first.
The resource includes:
- a playing board with cute leprechaun clip art; (1 page)
-cards in two shades of green with sight words written on them. (5-100 Fry List); (10 pages)
-two shades of green cute polka dot background for your cards; (2 pages)
All of this (apart from the polka dot background, apparently :) ) available in black and white. Print two different colors words if you are using the black line version.
You can also use just the cards for another game or as flashcards.
This is a great literacy center idea or an early finishers resource.
