Sight Words Made Easy is a hands on approach that builds success and confidence in struggling readers.
When a new word is introduced the students practice the word first by playing the matching game and then by reading one of the books.
The books contain only words previously taught except for the boxed words. The students need to look for picture clues to figure out the boxed words. This creates success for the students and teaches them to look at the pictures for clues.
There are four books for the first 50 words taught and three books for the last 50 words taught. Plenty of meaningful practice with each word is provided. The books continue to provide practice with sight words previously taught.
The Illustration Books let your students enjoy being the illustrator of their own books while learning new sight words.
The Writing Sentences Books gradually guides students that need help writing sentences. Some students have a difficult time with handwriting or just coming up with an idea to write about. These books help them adjust to the writing process with guidance.
I have had a great deal of success teaching students with autism, down syndrome, adhd, and learning disabilities to read with this program. It has also been used with great success in the general ed classroom. Great RTI program.
