Learning sight words can be hard for some students so why not make learning them fun?! With games, all students learn and practice social skills at the same time. With POPCORN!, students can do both.
My school utilizes Reading Street Curriculum for Kindergarten. This set includes the required sight words from Unit 2 Weeks 4-6 and Unit 3 Weeks 1-6. My Kindergarten team also decided to include challenge words to help those who quickly learned their sight words and give them more sight word knowlege for when they go to First Grade! The challenge words came from the Dolch/Fry word lists.
Print on cardstock, laminate and cut out. I either use a set of stickers on the back or write the name of each set on the back of each card so I can easily sort them when they get mixed up and you know they will! I store mine in the cute popcorn boxes found at The Dollar Store or sometimes at The $1 Spot in Target.
