This set comes with the following:
8 Sight Words: baby, teacher, library, papers, must, more, home, right
4 Phonics: oa, ue, a_e, i_e
6 Fluency Sentences: My baby brother is crying. He wants a bottle., The man is under the papers. He has too much work to do., It is getting late. I have to go home right now., My teacher said to give her five on the rug., I got a book from the library. Have you been to the library?, I must have more of this pie. It is so yummy!
Each set comes with a combination of sight words (8-12 word cards per set), 4 phonics cards, and 6 fluency sentence cards. I print each section on a different color of card stock and attach them to a ring with the set cover card.
I use one set a week to build sight word and phonics recognition and to build reading fluency with some of the corresponding words in text. I send these home to students for homework each week and my aide and I go over them in small groups each day. Students can play match with two sets, trace words with an expo marker if laminated, circle the vowels, circle the sight words in the sentence cards, time how fast they can read the cards, etc. The more exposure the better! ENJOY!
