    Products included:

    1. Sight Word Flashcards – Create a Word Wall or do Sight Word Activities (SASSOON Font)

    Distance Learning Ideas: Email the cards to the students for home use; flash the card for the students to read on a platform like Zoom where you talk about the word, ask the kids to write the word, then check it with the card.

    • 99 sight words, 9 color words, and number words 1-20.
    • A few of the 99 words can be sounded out; (e.g., a, sister, us). Some children may need this reference.
    • Most of the words use alternate spellings that must be taught. (e.g. to, me, go, came, back, little)
    • Some of the words are confusing because they are homophones. (e.g. for, four; to two too)
    • Some of the words use the schwa sound. (e.g. mother)
    • Some of the words are simply tricky to read or spell! (e.g. does, saw)

    * These words do not follow the rules and must be learned with a ”look and say” approach.

    2. Sight Word Desk Charts (SASSOON Font)

    • 45 words per chart / 90 words per chart
    • the order they may be introduced

    3. Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check (SASSOON Font)

    The children will learn to read and spell:

    • 90 words: the tricky words from Jolly Phonics and high-frequency words that can be “tricky” due to multiple spellings (homophones) or spellings that have not yet been studied
    • words with irregular spellings that have a look and say approach for learning
    • ‘tricky words” in sentences

    4. My Personal Dictionary (SASSOON Font)

    Practice the words they need to learn. Add new words to their personal Dictionary.

    • 90 high-frequency sight words (the Jolly Phonics “tricky words’ are bold),
    • 11 color words (choose grey or gray),
    • number words 1 to 12
    • 84 high-frequency nouns with graphics to represent them.
    • There are two 14 Page personal dictionaries included. One dictionary is in full color. One dictionary has black and white graphics.
    • The student is encouraged to add words to the dictionary that he/she finds difficult to spell or read.

    5. Dictionary Song (SASSOON Font)

    With teacher direction, the students experience these learning opportunities:

    • alphabetical order
    • how to look words up in a dictionary to spell them
    • how to look words up in a dictionary for the meaning
