This product was inspired by my “Pre-K Class.”
At mid-year, once my students are able to recognize and name all letters and sounds, they are ready to learn to read and write. At this time, I introduce Sight words(also called “Dolch High Frequency” words )and “CVC” words for the five short vowels.
This activity was designed for students to name words in the boxes and to sort the words to make a sentence. This is a great way to review words already learned, helps students remember that a sentence begins with a capital letter, sort words so the sentence makes sense, and how a sentence ends with punctuation.
You can use these during “Circle Time,” “Small Group” “Work Time” and during “Centers.” You can also pair up students and have them complete this activity together. The students love working in teams and this helps them in team building with their classmates.
