Sight Words - Spin a Sight Word
Sight words are one of the most effective tools a reader can have. Sight words make up the majority of all text. In fact, 50% off all text is made up of the same 100 words!
Sight words are not only important because they show up frequently. They are also important because many sight words cannot be sounded out or represented graphically.
Use these quick and easy sight word printables when introducing or reviewing particular sight words. On each page, students will use a pencil and a paper clip to spin a sight word. Each time a word is spun, the student will write down the sight word.
Each sight word is used on two different printables for extra practice. For instance, the word "after" is on a printable with
1) give, let, & some
2) her, put, & stop
This set contains the following sight words:
after, again, an, any, as, ask, by, could, every, fly, from, give, going, had, has, her, him, his, how, just, know, let, live, may, of, old, once, open, over, put, round, some, stop, take, thank, them, then, think, walk, were, when
