Description
Here are two sight word games which will also build reading fluency - perfect for your literacy centers!
Each of the 24 word cards features an early level high frequency word, a short sentence using the word, and an illustration that goes with the sentence. The sentences use only the words on these cards or nouns that can be easily determined by using the picture and the first letter.
When your students read the words in the context of sentences, two objectives will be addressed: your students will master reading the sight words while improving their fluent expression, phrasing, and pace.
The cards can also be used for playing memory or concentration games. 'Round and 'Round Cover-Up, a non-competitive board game which uses the same words and sentences, is also included.
