I’m always looking for Researched based interventions to use with my students on IEP’s or Students who are receiving RTI. Using the Cover Copy Compare method is such an easy way to boost spelling scores of sight words. It is so easy to monitor and watch the progress of each child grow. This intervention can be done ALONE or with someone. And it - REALLY DOES WORK.

• Introduce 10 words at a time.
• Have students practice reading the words using the color code method.
• Have students use COLORED PENCILS to trace the words using the color code pattern.
• Students fold the paper back along the fold line; write the word on their own, then look back for immediate feedback.
