Sight words take practice, practice, practice! This resource provides four different activities to keep students engaged while giving them multiple opportunities to see and say the words.
Common Core Aligned:
Associate the long and short sounds with the common spellings (graphemes) for the five major vowels.
Read common high-frequency words by sight (e.g., the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do, does).
This product contains 153 worksheets for teaching and reviewing the first 92 Dolch sight words including the entire pre-primer and primer list. Students have a variety of ways to practice them including reading, writing, practicing fluency, comprehending, and cutting and pasting CVC words. Because learning sight words in context is better and easier for students, I have created a packet that presents them in context and gives the students more exposures in a variety of ways learning the sight words the way they will see them in books - in sentences, not in isolation. Students will be able to read and spell the words better than if taught with flashcards.
Each four page set covers three words. The three words are found on a cut and paste the picture to match the simple sentence worksheet, a flip book with a sentence stem and CVC words in the sentence, a fluency page where the students read sentences with the sight words and CVC words, and the last page where the students fill in the blank with the missing sight words and write a sentence about a picture with the same sentence pattern. These pages are interactive and have varied activities to keep students interested as well as giving them multiple exposures to all the pre-primer and primer sight words.
