This is one of 75 sight word books I've made/used for years to help teach/reinforce sight words and reading concepts. these books "grow" with each new word they learn.
How I use these books:
Day 1. The books need to be printed out on two sheets of paper. Students cut out the pages on the lines. They sequence the pages in order (math concept) and staple the book. I teach them how to highlight the new sight word on the cover and search for it in the book. They highlight the new word in each new page.
Day 2. Read the book together in small groups. Teach reading concepts. Color the pages.
Day 3. Read the book in small groups. Copy sentences onto white board.
Day 4. Read the book to a friend and to teacher independently.
Day 5. Take the book home. There they can put it in their "library box" and use it as their nightly reading. They will collect 75 books by the end of the year, each growing in sight words as well as CVC words.
