Practice vocabulary by playing SIGN-O. Can be used with any set of 25+ vocabulary words or even numbers. Either Laminate the boards, or slide them into sheet protectors and have students write their words in the boxes using either Vis-A-Vie or Ultra Fine tip dry erase markers.
Write up all of the potential words on the board and have the students choose which 25 to include in their board. (Free Space is up to you) Make yourself a list so that you can keep track of words you have already used.
Sign the words one at a time and have students mark them off of their board - We use poker chips, but coins or buttons or anything will do.
You decide if they can go across, down, diagonally, four-corners or make a picture. When a student gets Sign-O, they must "Applaud" and then sign the words back to you for verification. I also make mine voice the word so that I can verify that they have the right meaning.
