I've found that if I toss a bit of craftiness into our lesson, I not only grab my students' attention
, but they learn and retain
those concepts better.
With that in mind, I designed Silas, the 3D shaped cylinder
snowman, as that word, as well as the shape, had been a toughie for prior students.
The facial features
of the snowman, practice and review 2D shapes
, which can be drawn on, or cut and glued.
An added bonus, is that completed projects make an awesome hallway display
, as they swirl and twirl from the ceiling.
I'm Diane from Teach With Me, hoping your students enjoy making Silas, as they wrap their heads around the concept of this 3D shape.
