This is a set of 40 task cards that have a sentence on each task cards with a silent e or long e word. The word is spelled without the e at the end. The students job is to read the sentence, and then fix the underlined (short vowel word) to a long vowel word. There is also 2 different printables that you can laminate and have students use over and over, or you could use it as a recording sheet for evidence of what the students are completing during this independent center. This is perfect for a word work center after you have introduced the concept of silent e or vowel consonant e words. This is aligned with common core state standard RF.1.3. Answer Key included.
