This is a weekly sheet that provides a different focus question each day for Silent Sustained Reading.
How I use it: The students look at the question before they read. This determines their purpose for reading. Once we have finished reading, they answer the question, and then we discuss as a class.
Each day has a place for the title and author, date, page they started reading on, the page they ended on, and how many minutes they read.
There is also a bonus opportunity at the end of the page to further cement their comprehension.
This is an original idea that I have developed over time with suggestions from colleagues. I have used this with great success for 5 years now.
I hope you enjoy!
