Description

Fun, motivating, effective, and easy to use, these Silent E Word Search Puzzles are sooo much better than another boring phonics worksheet.

Helping to imprint for automatic recognition later, these puzzles with more than 100 silent e words use an engaging format to provide extra decoding practice for beginning and struggling readers and spellers.

Many students need the extra practice that common instructional materials often do not provide.

The puzzles provide practice in visually “chunking” words that some students need, especially those who have failed at hearing and blending sounds in traditional phonics instruction.

Neurological research indicates that humans make connections in their brains using patterns, and these word searches are based on the most common word families in English.

The set also improves the fluency, reading rate, and spelling skills of all readers, and they are great for homework, seatwork, and /or learning centers.

Lower case letters are used in all of Reading Spotlight's Word Search Puzzles because lower case is used in the majority of print.

Answers can be found across and down only as diagonal and backwards defeats the purpose of cluster retention.

Effective for reading levels 2-4, they might also be used with better readers in grade 1 and with struggling readers above grade 4.

Other word search puzzles include:

Word Search: Sounds of C

Word Search: Sounds of G

Word Search: Sounds of Y

Word Search: Silent Consonants

Word Search Bargain Bundle: Sounds of C, G, Y & Silent Consonants

Word Search: Regular Double (Long) Vowels

Word Search: R-Controlled Vowels
