This is an activity that I started using a few years ago in Word Works. At first I had envelopes with color coded sentence strips for the beginning, middle, and end pieces. I transformed it a couple years ago to be a flip book. Now I use it as a seatwork activity. Students practice writing a sentence using a noun, verb, and prepositional phrase. They are able to read the sentences which is great practice too! Print on cardstock, laminate, bind into a small flip book, and cut to separate the sections. A little work for a great end product! Corresponding worksheet for writing sentence and illustrating. Using illustrations shows the students understand what they have written. In addition, I have them underline in crayon the different parts of their sentence to start building understanding of the parts of a sentence. Enjoy!
