This is an excellent bell-ringer starter activity. Using a computer and classroom projector, students can work on this for the first 10-15 mins of class. Students will proceed to correct the "silly sentences" in a journal or notebook. Then, you will review the corrections/errors as a class by asking students to volunteer their specific corrections. As a result, everyone learns and gets a laugh at the same time. My 10th graders enjoyed this activity and writing scores truly improved!
