This Boom Cards™ deck contains 30 Task Cards that targets understanding semantic absurdities. The child is asked to read the sentence, identify the word that makes the sentence silly, answer why the word makes the sentence silly, and provide another word to correct the statement. This deck heavily relies on the auditory processing, visual processing, critical thinking, typing or verbal skills of the child.

The contents of the deck are as follows:

  • Card 1 - Cover Page
  • Card 2 - Instructions
  • Card 3 - Sample Card
  • Card 4 - 33: 30 Task Cards with a Silly Sentence and 3 Questions

SPECIAL NOTES: Only the questions on what word makes the sentence silly and what word can you use to correct the sentence have a correct answer. It means that the answers for these questions were set. The question on why the word makes the sentence silly is set to be open-ended. Thus, it will require for the therapist/teacher to check the answer.

If in case the answer of the child for the word replacement is not included among the answer set, please send me a feedback at speakandteachph@gmail.com so I can add it in.

Kindly note that only the first 2 pages have gifs, the rest of the deck only contains task cards.
