I use Scavenger Hunts to review a lot of different subjects in my classes. This one gives the students two similar polygons and the scale factor. Students use this to set up an equation to find the value of 'x' which would give the correct scale between the two figures. There are 18 questions in this Scavenger Hunt.
I have another Scavenger Hunt that deals with Similar Polygons and their scale factors. In it, students are given either the volumes or surface areas of two similar polygons. Using this information, they are to find the scale factor. (ratio of similarity) You can find that one here: Similar Polygons (Finding the Scale Factor)
Students have fun with Scavenger Hunts. They try hard to find the correct answer so their team can finish first! I like to have Geometry students practice their Algebra skills whenever possible and this one does that.
It includes instructions of how to use the Scavenger Hunt, a worksheet that students can use to record their answers, and a homework worksheet that reviews the same subject.
