Product Description

Looking for a simple way to target similarities and differences with visual support? This resource is NO PRINT and easy to use!

Similarities and Differences using Venn Diagrams has been so helpful in teaching my language students how to compare and contrast common objects. I hope your students will love it as much as mine do. This is a NO PREP lesson designed for either a teletherapy platform, iPad or SMART board. Easy to carry with you when you are a traveling therapist, or when there is little time to plan. We know that using Venn Diagrams are very powerful teaching tools for visual learners.

We've targeted the following pairs:

apple/banana

cat/lion

pencil/marker

coffee/orange juice

soap/shampoo

pancakes/eggs

boots/sandals

toothbrush/paintbrush

books/newspaper

turtle/duck

house/tent

circus/zoo

giraffe/monkey

penny/quarter

sun/moon

desk/table

popcorn/pretzels

flashlight/candle

fall/spring

soccer ball/football

HOW TO USE: Using a teletherapy platform, SMART Board, or iPad, have your students complete the Venn Diagram to label each pair's similarities and differences. The commonalities of each pair belong in the middle, overlapping section of the circles. The differences of each pair belong on the outer rims of the circles. After all of the pairs have been taught, use the game board to continue to practice without the use of picture prompts!

TIPS: Use ONE color text for similarities. Use a different color for each one of the differences (i.e.; monkey's differences are printed in red/giraffe's in purple. When the students review their work before moving on, it makes it much easier for them to discern and discuss.

EASY TO MODIFY: Require young students to give just one similarity or difference. Older students can give more.
