Studying similes or figurative language? This is a great way to reinforce the concept and use of similes while practicing fluency at the same time!
If you are starting a poetry unit with third graders, for example, this would be a helpful introduction to using similes in poetry.
This is an original 2 1/2 page script that works perfectly for third and fourth graders. You may have some second graders who are ready for this, too!
This is an editable script which you may edit with your own text, add/delete, revise your own content. To change the text, click anywhere on each page within the text.
Please note: The graphics which were created and copyrighted by Educlips, have been flattened and are not editable.
Keep in mind you can change the cast to the names of YOUR students! You can click on the cast text box, and in the script.
It is a short script with a cast of a teacher and 11 students (which you can change according to your own class). The students talk about similes and discuss what they are and how they can make pictures in your mind...
I hope you try this out with your students. Have fun with editing this script and giving it your personal touch. You may want to add more voice...or more content! This could be a framework to modify your own readers theater.
Please be sure you have the software to open and edit this PowerPoint.
Thanks to EDUCLIPS for the cute children graphics.
Thanks for your interest in this script.
