In this two-part worksheet, students will first learn the basics of what similes are and why they're used. Students will follow along as they fill in explanations showing how similes compare two things using a feature that both things have in common.
On the back, students will read a free-verse poem, and will identify the similes used within. Students will then use the poem to answer several questions about the author's use of similes within the poem.
Answer key is included, and is great to display when going through the note-taking process.
Ink-saver (background-free) version included!
