Understanding and using figurative language can help students grow as communicators, both in written and oral form. This product was designed to give students hands-on practice with similes, idioms, and metaphors. There is isolated practice with each, as well as mixed practice with similes, metaphors, and idioms. The sort will keep your student engaged, especially if you try several of the suggested uses. The interactive notebook and worksheets are great ways for your students to show some creativity as they learn the difference between these three types of figurative language.
