This is a great review for students after discussing similes and metaphors. Students look at quotes from favorite books and authors and determine whether they are similes or metaphors.
The activity has several possibilities for differentiation, depending on your class:
*You can have students figure out the quotes and then check an answer key
*OR you can print the version of quotes with the QR codes and have students guess, then scan for the answer.
*You can also print the quotes without the QR symbols, but have the answer key as a QR code, with students jotting their answers down (quotes are numbered).
10 quotes are included, so this is meant to be an activity that can be simple and quick. I plan on using this with my fifth graders for their poetry unit.
