This packet consists of nine word puzzles of similies commonly used in the English language. They start out being mixed up: "As strong as a cucumber?" "As pretty as a barrel of monkeys?" The students put them in their proper places.
They can be humorous, and also are springboard for some interesting discussions or research. "As clean as a whistle"? Really? How clean is a whistle, anyway?
