This is a fun lesson to teach students the vocabulary needed for a thermal energy unit. Words taught include : thermal energy, conduction, conductor, convection, friction and heat.
Students read a description (Simon says) that is in easy to understand language. They choose a word from the word box that matches the description and write it in the Science says box.
After completion, the teacher can also turn this into a game. If she says, "Simon says '(reads description)'", the students yell out the science term. If the teacher reads the box without saying, "Simon says" and the students say the science term they are out (similar to the classic rules of Simon says).
