Learn The Simple Secrets Of An Awesome Classroom – Go From Scared to Success!

Dear Teacher,

Eleven years ago when I was a newly qualified Teacher, I suffered BADLY with nerves! I’ll be honest with you…my first year of teaching was an absolute disaster, shocking really, I struggled through each term yearning for the holidays!

But I knew deep down, that if I could have a little help, a little mentorship, some strategies to get me through those dark times, I would be an AWESOME Teacher.

What if it didn’t need to be like that? What if you could sleep soundly the night before your first day knowing you’ve GOT THIS? What if you swanned into your classroom on the first day like A BOSS! What if….
….you had a SUCCESSFUL first day?
….you knew in advance behaviour management techniques that will create less stress in your room?
….you could join in on conversations in the staff room from Day 1?
….you get offered a job every year because you made such a great first impression?

What if you could have an AMAZING first year? Well, now you can!

Introducing….’Simple Classroom Setup Secrets’ eBook.

‘Simple Classroom Setup Secrets’ is an eBook giving advice for Teachers who are starting out. The easy to follow hints and tips will have you teaching like a pro in no time!

Here’s what you’ll get inside:

How to decorate your classroom - what you need to focus on and more importantly what you do NOT need to do
How to direct your Teaching Assistant - they are very important!
How to set up classroom rules that maintain harmony and let you TEACH! - ideas for a system and also rewards
How to organise the tables and chairs for maximum effect - pros and cons of different setups
The importance of relationships with both children and parents - ideas for making this happen
How to dress for success - what to wear
How to handle the staffroom - the dos and don'ts of this important place
How to deal with administration staff - very important people to get on side
How to differentiate - ideas for differentiating effectively
What not to do - believe me, you don't need to laminate everything in sight!
And many tips along the way!

Now after 11 years of setting up classrooms, at the beginning of the year..even mid-year I have ZERO nerves about it. I get a good night's sleep the night before and arrive to my new school with a smile on my face! And I always get offered a job!

Now I know, like me 11 years’ ago, you’ve worked super hard at University and are super excited to get going in your own classroom, but underneath all that you’re NERVOUS, seriously SCARED. What will you say to the children?! What about the parents?! How do I decorate the classroom? What the hell is differentiation?!

I know how difficult it is to work so hard and then make yourself look unprofessional on the first day! Ouch! I’ve also felt like jacking it all in, changing career because it’s ALL TOO MUCH!

Desperately trying to juggle being kind, but strict, being firm but fair…and doing none of them well!

Here’s the thing…Teaching is the most RIDICULOUS (but rewarding) profession. There I said it, it’s true! Admit it, accept advice and have the BEST year of teaching that you can!

I hope you enjoy the book and it helps you get your priorities straight for the year ahead.

Some reviews:

Emma’s e-book is exactly what the title suggests – simple classroom setup procedures. As a pre-service teacher, it has helped me develop a plan of attack in preparing for the transition into teaching.

Her tone is reassuring and personal, which helps reduce that overwhelming feeling of where to begin. The simplicity of ideas and strategies make them very easy to implement and develop down the track. I look forward to employing the strategies and tips Emma provided in her e-book in the future.

Anita S,
Pre-service teacher, Flinders University, South Australia

The big take home message for me after reading from Emma’s book is that I don’t have to be perfect. If only I’d had access to this in my first year of teaching I would have realised that trying my best was good enough!

Many of Emma’s tips and trick are ones I have learned steadily over my career. The course theory from the PGDE did not prepare me for the reality of the classroom at all, however the way the book is written provides a no nonsense guide to making the most of the things that really do matter when setting up a classroom and preparing for your first weeks of teaching.

I would apply the tips in this guide to setting up a classroom even now after several years of teaching.
