Simple machines debate is a fun activity that addresses student’s curiosity. The debate will enable students to work cooperatively, brainstorm ideas, develop vocabulary and read to support their opinions. Students will need to conduct research, take notes to summarize, to question, and to clarify information. They will identify main ideas, eliminate less important information, classify, and label information. The activity will allow students to explain and to explore additional facts for clarification purposes. The teacher is still in charge and will call for order during the debate.
