This lesson is designed to teach the basic principles of electricity and magnetism. Students will construct their own, working electric motors, using them to drive a tiny paper fan.
These materials are separated into 3 parts:
1) A Teacher's Guide (For Introducing you to the material.) [1 Page]
2) A Complete Procedural Guide, Featuring Full Color Photographs, start to finish. (Check out the preview, your students will love this!) [8 Pages]
3) Lesson Plans [2 Pages]
The only hardware required to outfit an entire class, other than the procedural materials found here, is an inexpensive pack of magnets (About $10), a spool of magnet wire (About $5, lasts 165 uses- about 8 years for a class of 20), and a few other very common items like tape and paperclips.
I'll add full 20-Pack Classroom Kits in the Hard Goods section if enough interest is expressed.
