This resource was designed for those children in the First through Third Grades who can read at an intermediate level and work independently to complete the tasks.
This resource is ideal for the following:
1. It can serve as an introduction to multiplication
2. It provides additional practice for those students having difficulty understanding the concept of multiplication
3. It can be used as morning or early finish work
There are 30 pages with two word problems on each. The children should read the word problem first and then draw the elements first to help determine the number sentence.
Lastly, write the numbers to create the number sentence. If there is not enough room in the rectangles provided to draw the pictures, the students should draw the pictures on the back. Another option is to let the student(s) use tally marks to represent one of the elements instead of drawing everything.
