The is a DUAL-SIDED worksheet. The front is sectioned into 4 identical parts, each for rating a different poem the student has read. This is particularly good for rating several poems against each other, but does not necessarily need to be used that way. Students write the name of the poem and author and rate the poem by coloring in 1 to 5 stars. They then justify their choice about why they like or do not like the poem--in a sentence-- and if they would be interested in reading other poems by the same author.
The back of the rating sheet takes the activity one step further, asking students to create a tally chart for the favorite poems of other students in their group/class/etc. Lastly, they create a line plot (or you can revise it to a bar graph or other type of graph) using their data.
No more searching for an easy way for primary/early intermediate students to rate poetry!!
