Students will roll a die 5 times to collect the parts of a four sentence story--Once, But then, Next, Finally. They then write the parts in order to create their story.
There are many possible combinations, some sillier than others. A writing sheet is also included, although my students usually use lined story paper so that they can also illustrate the story.
This works well for Daily 5 Work on Writing.
