Product Description
This simple science experiment includes a 3 page story for young kids about Archimedes and the golden crown with follow-up questions and a science experiment about comparing volumes of oddly-shaped objects through water displacement.

This could be used with students from preschool through high school -- older students will be able to understand and apply the mathematical concepts of volume, while younger students will enjoy the story and simple experiment.

You could extend this lesson by talking about density, figuring out what types of objects float or sink, and why water makes things look larger (magnification).

This would work great for mixed age groups in a homeschool setting or as a simple science lab experiment or used as a math center activity in schools.
