I have had wild success using this with third, fourth and fifth graders learning english. Their vocabulary is extremely limited and doing these simple problems that they have already learned how to do in their own language permits them to do all of this with little frustration. They must write the answer as a word and show the work. Then, I ask them to translate the text from English to their language. Before handing out the worksheet we do about 30 minutes of similar examples. I'd love to hear your success stories with this one!
