These cards have been created to develop and enhance your lessons and learning centers in your classroom. They are awesome game cards that can be used to develop a lesson or to place it in a learning center.
This material is aligned to:
-5.4F. Simplify numerical expressions that do not involve exponents, including up to two levels of grouping.
-5.4E. Describe the meaning of parentheses and brackets in a numerical expression.
-CC5.OA.1 Use parentheses, brackets, or braces in numerical expressions.
You can use the cards in different ways.
For guided or independent practice: In a developing lesson, you may follow the number in the card, to guide students to master the skill.
For Learning Centers: Use the recording sheet of the game “I-Express”.
For Interventions: You may use the cards in one-on-one tutoring to develop understanding of the concepts main concepts: NUMERICAL EXPRESSIONS, SOLVE EXPRESSIONS, ORDER OF OPERATIONS, etc.
These cards will look best in color, but will also print out fine in grayscale. Simply print and cut along the guidelines. Laminate and use them again and again. Alternatively, you could print on cardstock. It works well to keep them in a baggie. Another option is to hole-punch a corner of each card and put them all on a ring.
