Are you tired of worksheets? Do your kids need extra practice simplifying algebraic expressions? Well, guess what? The big kids need to move, too!
Here's a scoot game for the BIG kids.
Scoot! is a fun activity where students will travel from station to station or desk to desk to solve problems. It is a great activity to get students up and moving, while still working on academic skills. This one is EXTRA special because it includes exercise!
Give each student a recording sheet. Students will start at their own desks (or an assigned spot) and answer the problem on their task card, writing the answer in the corresponding box on the record sheet. When students are finished with a task, the teacher will say, “Scoot!” and students will move onto the next desk or station. They will continue to answer problems and move about the room until they get back to their own starting point.
This set includes 27 algebraic expression task cards, 9 movement cards and an answer key. I have also included an extra page of blank movement cards so you can add your own exercises. (Maybe you are brave and you can give them some dance moves, or maybe you have hula hoops or balls available?!)
For the exercise cards - I did not assign a number to the
exercise task. You can stipulate a number at the beginning, or you can just tell them to continue until you say, "Scoot!"
Thanks for looking!
