This is such a fun twist on a practice worksheet! Students simplify an expression, which leads them to the next expression, which leads them to the next, until they complete the worksheet!
These worksheets can be used as in-class practice, homework, or formative assessments.
THREE worksheets are included in this set:
1) Simplifying expressions by combining like terms (no distributive property).
2) Simplifying expressions involving the distributive property.
3) Factoring out the GCF to write an equivalent expression.
Each worksheet has 12 problems.
Students are motivated by the self-checking nature of this activity. They are also more willing to seek help if they can't find the solution, so they can move on to the next problem!
The 12th problem is the most challenging; however, students have to solve this one without knowing whether or not they are correct. For the last problem, students write down their solutions.
Each problem has enough space for students to show work.
Answer keys are also included!
