Product Description
Are you working with your students on simplifying fractions? If you are working on the standard of adding or subtracting fractions with uncommon denominators and then needing to simplify the fractions, this game can be a great way to reinforce and practice the skill of simplifying to find a final answer/equivalent fraction.

The fraction game has a fun ice cream theme and is titled "Ice Cream and Simplifying".

NOTE: Students are not adding and subtracting fractions. They are just looking at the fraction presented and then putting it in simplest form. For example, they may land on a space with the fraction 5/20 and they would simplify it to 1/4. More difficult fractions to simplify might look like 12/30 becoming 2/5.

How does the game work? Students will roll, solve, and then go. On a student's turn, they will roll the dice one time. They will then move that many spaces. They will then simplify the fraction. Their partner will check the answer using the key. If they get it right, they get to move ahead one more space. If they miss it, they move back 3 spaces. The first one to the end wins the game.

**Please, ... if you are unsure about anything with the game or you have questions, I would appreciate if you send me a message before purchasing. I want you to be happy with the activity. :-) Thank you.**

NOTE: This is a black/white game with black line graphics. There is NOT a color copy included. When I created this for my own class, I decided to make something that took few copies, something that would save my ink, something that had easy directions, and was very little prep work. :-)

This simplifying fractions game will work perfectly as a math center during math rotations.

Please look closely at the thumbnails and preview to make sure the fractions I chose will work for you.

For this game, you will need a dice, game markers, the game board, the answer key, and possibly notebook paper.

Your students are sure to have fun as they play.

PLEASE... if you ever see that I made a mistake or an error on the answer key, please allow me a chance to get it corrected for you. I can usually do so very quickly. I have two sets of eyes look at everything, but we might miss something here or there. No much, but it can happen. Thank you ahead of time! It is greatly appreciated. Just send me a message on my Q and A, and I will get it taken care of.
