Description

This FREE set of 20 digital, self-checking task cards is a great way to help your algebra students practice simplifying radicals using the imaginary number i. Students are shown one question at a time and LOVE getting instant feedback as they practice simplifying square roots of negative numbers.

The cards are scaffolded to increase in difficulty. The first 7 cards break the problems down into smaller steps by showing students how to factor out the -1 and perfect square factors. The final 13 cards require students to simplify the complex numbers by themselves.

Boom Cards™ work on just about any device that can access the internet. They're self-checking and you can even track student progress through Boom Learning℠! Plus, they're paperless. No printing or laminating required - less prep work for you! You can assign Boom Cards to individual students, groups of students, or use a projector and use them with whole-class instruction.
