This interactive SMARTboard lesson and activity starts with a brief mini lesson reviewing what a simile is and how to identify one in a sentence. It then gives the students an opportunity to determine which answer is a simile and to create their own simile with the help of graphics and some given words. Information and practice is presented in multiple ways to keep the lesson engaging. Some similes included in lesson are: fit as a fiddle, happy as a clam, cute as a button, like a slow snail, clean as a whistle, and many more. Great for introduction, review, or remediation. All slides are self checking so it lends itself easily to whole group, small group, partner share, or even independent center. Also great for test prep. MUST have SMART Notebook software to download and use this file.
