After teaching students phrases for navigating thru a restaurant setting in Spanish, distribute these task cards and split students up in groups of 3 to 4. I have one student be the waiter/waitress. The other students act like the guests. Have students create a dialogue that incorporates all of the components on the task card. I always love what my students come up with.
This can be spontaneous, or can serve as whole-hour activity.
