I created this activity when I noticed my students' homework completion decline. Actually, it has been a common theme in the past with the current students I have, and I needed to put an end to it.
I came up with a simulation activity that has students do a quick and easy homework assignment the night before, and then we go through the back door and relate the entire simulation to homework completion, dependency on classmates, responsibility of the individual and the class, emotions that occur in the classroom when some come prepared and some do not, etc. The list goes on, because with each group you do this with, they will have a different simulation and therefore a different response.
I have included post-simulation discussion questions (you can see some in the preview file), which are just as important, if not more important, than the actually activity. They go hand in hand. Everything you need to do this activity has been placed into one PDF file. I would love to answer any quesitons about this activity that you might have--I am posting it shortly after doing it. I have a feeling I'm going to be sharing this with my co-workers quite soon, for it has worked very well for me.
